Kayak Fishing Charter

Kayak fishing charters are one of the best ways to experience Florida’s inshore marine environment, getting you into the ‘skinny’ waters that larger boats are forced to pass on by. These shallow areas are often along the mangrove fringe or seagrass beds and hold an enormous variety of fish, including the three ‘grand slam’ species: Snook, Red Drum, and Spotted Seatrout.

What to expect...

Each fishing charter is customized to suit you and time on the water is typically around 4 hours. We believe that having the right gear can make all the difference in a trip, so we outfit our fishing tours with premium kayaks and equipment: Ocean Kayak Prowler Big Game 2 kayaks decked out with Scotty mounts, Werner paddles, vented PFDs, and Wright & McGill rods.

A lesson is provided at the beginning of each tour so that all are comfortable, safe, and happy on the water. All fishing charters are private and include guide service, all paddling and safety gear, fishing rods, and bait. Artificial lures are standard and live bait is available at market price.

Kayak Fishing Charters launch from Sarasota Bay’s barrier islands – Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key. We target early morning departures, although times and places of departure vary depending on currents, wind, and “fishability” and are determined at the guide’s discretion.
