What to expect...

Robinson Preserve is one of the best places in the area to get a glimpse of what coastal Florida looked like before the development boom in the 1950s. Nearly 700 acres of stunningly restored coastal wetlands, including mangrove forests and tidal salt marsh habitats. Ospreys, eagles, white pelicans, dolphins, manatees, and loads of other wildlife may greet you on your tour. After your paddling adventure, take a hike along one of the many paths. Then climb up the 50+ foot observation tower to take in the phenomenal views of Tampa Bay and the surrounding waterways. The Mangrove Kayak Tour is perfect for families, groups, couples, and individuals with any level of paddling experience. First-time paddlers are always welcome! A lesson is provided at the beginning of each tour so that all are comfortable, safe, and happy on the water. All necessary paddling and safety equipment is included with the tour, along with dry bags for your camera, phone, keys, etc. Our equipment is top-of-the line and our tours are always kept to a maximum of 10 paddlers (larger groups can easily be accommodated upon request). There are full restrooms and free parking at the meet-up location at the main entrance to Robinson Preserve, located just east of Anna Maria Island.

$10 discount for each child under the age of 12

Florida summers can take some getting used to! Please remember to arrive well-hydrated, armed with sun protection, and dressed in clothing that keeps you cool and comfy.

The best place to kayak through mangroves around Longboat Key and Anna Maria Island is the Sister Keys, a group of four mangrove islands covering nearly 75 acres of stunningly restored coastal wetlands, including mangrove forests and tidal salt marsh habitats. Birds, dolphins, manatees, and loads of other wildlife live around these islands and may come out to say hello during your mangrove tour.

As you kayak through mangroves, you’ll take in beautiful views of downtown Sarasota and fish-filled seagrass flats, before stopping at the Sister Keys sandbar – a perfect place to stretch your legs and look for conchs, crabs, and other wildlife.
