Summer Camp 2024

Camp HPK

kids kayaking summer camp!

$65 / day

Calling all kiddos! Come join our kids kayaking summer camp! This special summer camp runs from July 22-26 from 8:30am-1:00pm. Sign up for as many days as you’d like! We will be exploring the fundamentals of paddling, water safety, marine science, and of course… FUN!

In this series of day camps, we will introduce children to:

  • the basics of paddling
  • water safety
  • marine science

We have access to several amazing kayaking locations throughout the Sarasota Bay area and we are excited to share each of these beautiful places with your child! Each day, we will present a new theme at a specific location. See the planned locations and descriptions for each day’s theme above and sign up your little happy paddler for one, some, or all days!

Camp counselors are certified lifeguards, expertly trained instructors of marine science, and highly experienced in water-based trip leadership.

Ages

Camp HPK is limited to ages 7 – 12.

Children will be distributed into kayaks depending on each day’s conditions and each individual camper’s comfort level and paddling ability. All paddlers will stay together in a group throughout the camp activities.

What to expect

We will meet each morning at 8:30am and have a brief introduction and trip safety overview. We will launch our morning paddle by 9:00am and return by 11:00am. A snack will be provided for each child (organic, healthy, and yummy!) while we are on the water. We will wrap up our morning adventure with a group art or science project and games.

**All necessary paddling and safety equipment will be provided, including a Coast Guard approved life vest

**We will make sure that all are comfortable, safe, and happy before heading out on the water

**A healthy snack will be provided for each Camper around 10:30 each morning (feel free to send your own snacks as well)

**There are restrooms and rinse stations at each of our launch locations

Campers should arrive:

  • dressed to get wet in clothing that is appropriate for summer in Florida (water shoes are a great choice)
  • with sunscreen applied to all exposed skin
  • well-hydrated
